Benjamin O. Jimerson-Phillips

Benjamin O. Jimerson-Phillips is an African American movie producer, director, songwriter, and screenwriter. He was also known as Benjamin O. Jimerson. He was owner of Jimerson & Associates founded in 1995. He is an established screen writer, and has authored three published books. He is a notable pro-life activist and humanitarian.

Jimerson-Philips is the son of Jessie Jimerson-Phillips and alleges to be the illegitimate son of J.O. Patterson Sr., the alleged eldest of their two alleged illegitimate children. He attended Sabarbaro Elementary School (now known as Arthur Ash School), in Chicago.〔 Raised by his mother Jessie, he was exposed early on to the Christian church and strong religious values.〔 Her work as an avid Christian missionary, author, songwriter and humanitarian inspired him, eventually leading him to contribute and publish a gospel activity book, written and illustrated by his mother "Agape Coloring Activity Book Of Prayers Puzzle Games ".
James O. Patterson, Sr. was the former Presiding Bishop of Church of God In Christ. was prominent in the Christian church community.〔("A Brief Historical Sketch of the Church of God in Christ, International (Arkansas)" ). He authored convention books for Bishop George D. McKinney of COGIC Southern California Second Jurisdiction, whom he claimed as his surrogate father figure in ''Prodigal Son, Child of The King'' publication.〔 He played a supporting role in the career successes of actors David Ramsey, Jazsmin Lewis, Sam Saletta and Niki Saletta. In the entertainment field he took the stage name Captain Fantastic.〔
Shortly after he began recording and producing a record alongside Charles Allen titled "Undercover Lover" that became an independent release on Right Note Records, under the name Captain Fantastic & Star Fleet. The record was about a secret love affair between a man and woman. The release featured Charles Allen, Lloyd Smith, Mark Bynum (members of the The Bar-Kays) as well as band mates Gerald Pride, Nazeeh Islam and Ralph LaVeaux.〔 Jimerson-Philips & Allen produced other independently released records, including the 1988 release "Playmate" by Kimmi Kim, and the 1989 release of "Undercover Lover" on the ''I'm Out for Love'' album by Revea.〔
Early on in Jimerson-Philips career, he dabbled in the music industry acting as a casting agent for music videos, including "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)", "Izzo" and "Girls, Girls, Girls (Jay-Z song) by Jay-Z, In "Disco Inferno (50 Cent song)", "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent, "More Than A Woman" by Aaliyah, "Thong Song" by Sisqo, Snake", "Fiesta" and "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time" by R. Kelly. He worked with Missey Elliott, Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas, and Jennifer Lopez, providing talent in many other videos. He appeared briefly in R. Kelly’s "If I Could Turn Back The Hand of Time" music video due to the absence of a male talent.〔
Benjamin O. Jimerson-Philips received multiple Gold and Platinum Record Awards including projects with Brandy, Ginuwine, Paula Abdul, Expose', Vanessa Williams and R. Kelly.〔
Jimerson-Philips primary focus is in the film industry, where his early fascination with film led him to earn a certificate of completion, at the Hollywood Film Institute as Cinema Director and Line Producer.
He has produced five motion pictures including ''Resurrection: The J.R. Richard Story'', ''Waters Rising'',
and ''Treasure n tha Hood'' (which he co-produced, starring Katt Williams).
He worked on biopic ''Resurrection: The J.R. Richard Story'', starring David Ramsey, Kenya Moore, Sara Stokes and Charles Durning. He was involved in other media projects, including the comedy ''Player’s School'',〔 as well as reality series ''The House of Divas'',〔 and ''Country Girls'', WWI film ''Camp Logan''. He assisted in the development of the stage plays ''Before We Say I Do'' and ''Celebrate Moma'' (with playwright Michael McCurtis).
He was commissioned as a "Goodwill Ambassador" by Arkansas Governors Jim Guy Tucker and Mike Huckabee.〔 In early 2000 he ran for City Council in the city of Little Rock, but did not accept donations.〔 In 2005 he was appointed as a "Colonel" on the Staff of New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. Later was recognized in a Special California State Senate Resolution #728 in 1991 & Resolution #1729 in 2006.〔
